      A backward step

This is my third consecutive OtterBox Strada; my previous versions were on my XS Max and 11 Pro Max, and this one is a definite backward step.It actually looks better than the other two because the closing flap on the front cover has been removed. The previous cases had a small flap that clipped over the right side of the case and could get in the way when sliding the phone in and out of pockets. Now the front cover sits flush like the lid of a box so it looks much sleeker. However, because the flap is now gone, the front cover doesn’t sit as securely when sliding in and out of pockets and can move. When the case is open and folded, the front cover secures onto the back of the case much firmer than it does the front and it can be a swine to release. The raised edges of the main body of the case are quite sharp for rubber. Also, the volume buttons need to be pressed overly firm in order to get them to work. It’s almost as though Apple only gave OtterBox a week’s notice to get this case designed and through production. It seems like a real rush job that was done knocked out when the quality control team were on holiday. On a positive note, the case does look very smart and the leather feels premium. Mine is black and, paired up with the graphite Pro Max, it looks really classy. It’s refreshingly easy to get the phone in and out of the case and, being an OtterBox, the protection should be as good as it gets. I just hope the testing team did a better job than the quality control team.I’m quite disappointed with this case and I’m relieved that I ordered an OtterBox Symmetry case at the same time. That case is five stars and bang on the money, which makes this one all the more disappointing.

      A bit of a disappointment

Overall it looks like a strong case, but does not seem to have been designed very well. The rubber inner case covers the microphone holes and needs adjustment, plus the screen cover is rather odd. The cover does not lay flush against the case when closed leaving an eighth of an inch gap. This is partly due to the odd magnetic catch, which sticks out from the side. The cover is very rigid, presumably to resist knocks, but that makes it difficult to fold back when answering calls. For the price that I paid, it was rather disappointing, I expected something better. Time will tell how durable it is, if I don't change it in the meantime.

      Works a treat

I’ve had this on an iPhone XR for 15 months and it pretty much still looks and works as new. Whilst it is the most expensive case I’ve had for a phone, it is also by far the best. It offers decent protection to the phone and screen. I’ve always had a screen saver before but haven’t bothered this time, with no ill effect from carrying the phone with me all the time in front trouser pocket.I’d not hesitate to recommend it or get another.

Very sturdy but with serious reservations

Arrived very quickly and packaged as genuine otter box so pleased with that. Very sturdy and an excellent fit for iPhone 11 BUT everyone I phone says my voice is muffled and the call quality is much worse than my cheap Chinese Xiaomi costing less than £80 so clearly the otter box case is the culprit as when I remove it people can hear me clearly. Such a pity the design team at otter box didn’t research this properly as other reviewers with other phones are also mentioning poor voice clarity. If you want to protect your expensive phone this case is great but if you make lots of calls I would think twice ~ maybe look at Snakehive as that definitely doesn’t muffle the calls. Pity.

Volume buttons doesn’t work inside case

Case is fine for me, although I have sent an email to otterbox advising them that there is a defect in manufacturing and the volume buttons on the case do not make contact with the phone unless you push stupidly hard. Which often leads to a screenshot or turning the screen off,

Simple fix is to cut a small
Peice of thin card, roughly the size of the of both of volume buttons,

Although this shouldn’t happen on a case of this price,

Volume button issue appears to have been fixed (as of August 2021)

I've been a big fan of OtterBox cases for a while and have to find a better wallet case for the price than the Strada range. They strike the best balance for me between value, looks and protection without adding a huge amount of bulk to the phone.

I was initially hesitant to buy this because of the issue other users have reported with the volume buttons. But after trying several other wallet cases and finding them unsatisfactory, I decided to take the risk on the OtterBox.

I needn't have worried. As of August 2021, the volume buttons on the case seem to be working just fine, perhaps due to redesign or a change in manufacturing. They work perfectly and aren't stiff or unresponsive in any way.

Otherwise, this is a little different from the last Strada case I had for a Galaxy S10+. It can store an extra card and the open/close clasp no longer protrudes from the case. This makes it slightly more difficult to open the case but on the flip side, the folio cover tidily magnetises to the back of the case now, meaning you don't have to worry about a flapping case when taking a call.

Volume buttons too hard to press

I have used Otto box cases Before and have been very pleased with the quality and protection that they afford. However, the latest case for the iPhone promax 12 has an issue with the volume control buttons. It’s very hard to press the buttons To operate the volume going up or down and to do a quick screenshot. In order to press the volume button up or down you almost need to hold the phone in a special way to force the button to be pressed which is not what you’d expect. I’m hoping that the bottom will ease over time and make it easier however I may need to speak with the supplier and get a new case which works more effectively than this one. It’s a shame because the case is self is great quality, the cover Is attractive and the case will clearly protect the phone for the time that I have it. If the manufacturer read this I would be most interested to hear their feedback on this product and issue I have raised.

      The best yet

      What's good:
It doesn't impact the sound quality, even with the cover folder back
The phone isn't going to fall out, it's held in a rubber container and thus won't crack
The leather case doesn't go round the camera (iPh11) which eliminates a weakspot in the case were it to try and go to the edges surrounding the camera.
It feels pretty robust. The screen is well protected.
The cover latch is bot easy to do/undo but is also secure.

      What's bad:
Um..... it's quite expensive, but hey, you get what you pay for.

      Perfect fit, neat features

After throwing over a grand at a phone, I thought I’d better get a good case. Much research later and this kept looking best. And it’s superb; perfect fit but really compact but loads of protection. Nice premium leather that smells great and a little feature I love; the folio cover can be folded back and magnetically locked out of the way; no more shots ruined by the cover flapping into view! This is the one to get.

Oh no Otterbox!! Where has the quality gone?

Shocking Otterbox! I have had your folio cases for years now. Until I received this new one for my new iPhone 12. The quality has got poorer over the last 2 years. This one the buttons are too hard to press to adjust the volume and the leather is more like plastic. Inside the case where you put your credit cards the material seems easier to split and break more than my last case which I thought was poor. The rubber corners are thinner and not so protective like my last one for iPhone 11. The case is harder to open now there isn’t a little flap for your thumb to flick open. It definitely is not worth £31.99. More like £10.99. Come on Otterbox up your game and I really do hope you read this.
