So its taken me nearly a year to write this review as I feel I have a fair assessment to give. I should say that I have just replaced my first fitbit inspire as the data became so unreliable. My biggest issue was with the heart rate, every else was always very good. Whilst training the heart rate would just drop off and leave gaps in the data. It came to a point where the tracker just stopped recording my heart rate. I contacted fitbit and they were extremely supportive, within a few weeks of contacting them I had a new fitbit inspire. The new one seems to be working much better than the last one. It still has the occasional data loss but this may be more an aspect of optical heart rate monitors , rather than the model. When I lost faith in the fit bit inspire I bought a Polar OH1. The polar OH1 is far better than the fitbit for heart rate monitoring, but that is all it does. I use both now and am happy with the combination. So here are a few pointers if your thinking of buying one.

1. If Heart rate is very important you are better off getting a strap monitor.
2. The Polar OH1 is a very good heart rate monitor but that is all it does.
3. The Fitbit inspire is ok at heart rate tracking, but it is affected by position on the wrist and other conditions which may lead to occasional data loss.
4. The fit bit is great for step counting, silent alarms, notifications, messages, Sleep tracking.
5. Its very light and I have it on all the time now including bed time.

In all its a good all round tracker, but don't expect it to out perform Polar for heart rate monitoring.

My first Fitbit. I bought it mostly to monitor my heart rate, but I've become mildly obsessed with my sleep cycles and being more active, the latter of which is no bad thing.

It's easy to use and syncs well with the app. I've added a water widget to my home screen. I've also deleted two other apps inused to track water intake and my menstrual cycle because this does both. I like that.

I didn't like the rubber strap because it looked massive on my wrist so have bought a third party fabric strap which I love.

It charges much more quickly than I thought it would. The exercise animations are very cute. It's good at working out some things and not others...it thinks I'm off road biking when I'm pushing the buggy 😂

Anyhoo, I like it and what it does. It's not too big for my wrist, is comfortable and has easily replaced my wrist watch of fifteen years.

Initially liked the look and feel of the product. After one day of use I could see that the only useful function was the stopwatch. The step count was wildly inaccurate, and it didn't do much else. Absolutely pointless without a heart rate monitor. I have not bought a different brand of fitness tracker, at half the price, which is absolutely brilliant and records some very accurate & incredibly interesting data. It is clear that the 'named brand' is not necessarily the best.

I got this Fitbit in lilac and I am super happy with the colour. It is a nice slim design so not to bulky on my little lady wrist like some other tracker/smart watches. If you scroll up from the main clock you cycle through all your stats...It did take me a few days to realised if you scroll down from the main clock you can manually start workouts without relying on the tracker to detect an increase in heart rate etc. Overall very happy with my purchase. It has gotten wet when hand washing, walking the dog in the rain...but not been swimming yet. The only downside is it took a long time to get the first Firmware update, but I read online that everyone was having that problem so I think I managed to buy mine just as they had a problem with their site. But a few days later and we are all sorted. :)

Update: Two weeks in and the screen has cracked. Nothing notable happened during the day. It was fine in the morning. I went to the park to walk the dog (off lead) yet by the time I got home and went to check my steps...the screen had a crack across the front. I tried to contact Fitbit live chat support, they asked me to take a picture and send it to them....She then decided that they would not cover the fitbit for a refund, replacement, or anything. She stated 'cracked or scratched screens are not covered by their limited warranty'. Why did she need a picture to determine that?

She offered no solution or resolution. I am not stuck with a nearly £90 cracked watch that certainly won't be waterproof...

Easy to set up and took around 30 minutes to do so. I find it very easy to use especially the sleep tracking and heart rate features. I also like that it can link to you phone for calls, notifications and text messages.

After reading lots of reviews on fitness trackers i decided to purchase this one. Well how wrong the reviews are!As others have mentioned, screen is terrible, you cannot see the time or steps outside in daylight and i have excellent vision which makes it useless when walking or running. Its not very accurate, counts steps when not moving and seems way off with total each day. My biggest issue is the fact you have to open a Fitbit account with a profile (similar to instagram) with which random people can contact you and make friend requests. Also when you try to make you profile private you still cannot make this completely private. Even when i made it as private as possible i still got friend requests coming through! All i want to do is track my fitness, i do not need all of the other rubbish and there was no mention of this when purchasing. Ok there maybe some buyers who want the social side but this review is to make others aware who maybe want the same from a fitness tracker as i do. I have since bought an Apple watch (Which i appreciate costs more) and the difference is night and day. Everything is quality and no privacy issues, it does what i need it to do, tracks my fitness and that's it!
