Edited - 3 months and the mouse is basically broken

Worst problem is likely the need to download a 1.5GiB software for the mouse to work correctly. Also, for some reason, it doesn’t work on a (admittedly cheap) usb hub.Leaving that aside, the mouse works great and it’s very comfortable-------------------------------------------------------Edit: after 3 months, primary click works when it wants to. Support sent me 2 "workarounds" which were as useful as not knowing about them, and currently getting a replacement.

      Faulty scroll-wheel

Worked great for three weeks, after which the scroll-wheel abruptly turned faulty. When scrolling slowly (i.e. browsing a webpage), it simply fails to register the scroll and the wheel will glide without any tactile feedback (whereas it's meant to "click" as you scroll). It's also a shame that the DPI settings etc. aren't saved onto the onboard memory for whatever reason. You have to wait until CUE has launched before your DPI is back to it's usual setting. Lighting etc. saves onboard perfectly fine though. It also likes to keep resetting the DPI to the lowest option, so I have to manually toggle it back up a couple steps.

      Not too bad

Went from a £180 mouse to this, so as expected build quality is not as good, and my old mouse had better extra buttons but no mouse has them anymore, so really I'm just upset they don't sell a mouse good enough for what I want hence the 4 star, for the price I paid on sale £35 it's a good mouse but for £50 it's just the same as any other mouse around the same price so get one you like the extra buttons on

AVOID! Plagued by Left Click Issues

TLDR: Do Not Buy - Manufacturing Issue. Left Click breaks after a month or so.

This mouse would be great if it weren't for the poor quality control at Corsair. How they can make a product where the most used button (left click) breaks so often is beyond me. Like it feels awesome but fundamentally you'll be returning your mouse for a refund or RMAing it for a replacement every 2-3 months.

If you Internet Search "M65 Elite Left Click Issues" you will find hundreds of posts from other PC enthusiasts with the same issue and no answers from Corsair.

Save yourself the pain, hassle and frustration - AVOID this plagued product.

Best gaming mouse I've ever had

This is probably the best mouse I've ever had.

It feels great in the hand, the movement is smooth, and the RGB lighting is seriously clean.

There's a decent assortment of buttons to manipulate, and the iCUE software offers great customisation opportunities.

Well packaged, easy to set up, very ergonomic... Top marks.

5 star for the time being

Nothing has really changed from my M40 thats still working apart from the fact I just wanted RGB to finish off my setup.I noticed there is a lot of bad reviews to do with no clicks situation which I still took the plunge cause why not why live life based on bad reviews ayy?? Well anyway this thing is flawless for the time being even though I haven't noticed any improvement on the accuracy side of things apart from its definitely smoother on the tracking so I probably just need to play on it a little longer but other than that the thing is definitely worth it if you managed to get it on a sale like me!!

      A flawed product

Now since my purchase in November 2019 I've gone through 3 replacements by corsair and I'm currently talking with their support staff for a 4th since the mouse starts to show defects in 4-6 months of usage.

The issues range from left click not being recognized to double-clicking and even the back and forward buttons sometimes refuse to work and you need to set up separate actions for them in the ICUE software.

I'm disgusted at the level of incompetence that this product got released and some of those issues have been apparent since 2015 for products of corsair and not only this mouse and they still haven't resolved them.

I'm honest when I say that the 20$ mouse I had from the computer store localy whichw as offbrand lasted and still works perfectly fine without those defects and has rgb just as well even if simplistic.

However I decided to spring up ~90£ when I purchased this products to finally get a good quality mouse that can work good for me, however boy was I wrong by picking corsair, While I may like their keyboards I'm sad to say this mouse is a complete let down and will just frustrate you.

Corsair will state their issues are resolved however that is not the case at all and you can verify it with the tons of people complaining online.

I give it 2 stars for the fact that it is ergonomic and has a nice look to it, however it fails to function at the base level of what a mouse should do and that is clicking accurately and responsively, such a shame.

AVOID THE PRODUCT IF YOU CAN.

AVOID Left mouse button will always fail after a couple of months!

Lets get the good out of the way, this is best feeling mouse I have ever owned. It feels great in the hand, has a nice weight to it and is perfect for gaming.

However I am now sending my THIRD replacement back to get a refund as this mouse has an inherent problem. The left mouse button will stop responding 70% of the time when pressed, meaning you have to click it 5-10times to get a response. My first one only lasted 5 months, the second lasted two months, and now my third has developed the same problem in less than two months.

If you do a google search there are pages in the Corsair forums, reddit and other places where people are all having the same problem it seems to be a huge problem with this specific mouse (and many others). If your mouse was made in China it appears that the Chinese switches will start to malfunction in just a few months. If your lucky and your mouse was made in Japan and Taiwan there doesn't seem to be a problem.

Corsair are aware of the issue but are burying their heads in the sand, many people are having to send their mice back to Corsair for repairs and replacements and the same thing keeps happening.

I've gone back to using a cheap £10 mouse I bought from Bargain Fox a couple of years ago, and although it doesn't feel as nice as the Corsair one, at least it works.

No lift off adjustment = not a gaming mouse

I was disappointed to learn that this "elite" gaming mouse doesn't support adjustable lift off. To those wondering , that means when you lift the mouse (once you reach the edge of your mat) and re-centre it, the sensor will still detect a surface and move your cursor whilst you readjust the mouse. This is quite disruptive in FPS games and most gaming mice I've had before allow you to set this low so as soon as it's even a hair above the mat it won't move.

A great mouse and a great upgrade from the M65 RGB PRO

I initially began PC gaming with a Corsair M65 RGB PRO. It was a nice little mouse, however they had issues. Nothing glaring, every~1000 clicks the left mouse button would get stuck down and require an extra press to unstick. The scroll wheel was a little dodgy but it was a good mouse. This thing? The M65 Elite? A perfect upgrade. I've been using the thing for nearly two months now and I wouldn't go back. Neither of the issues with the predecessor have surface here. This mouse looks sleeker, feels a little better to use and via Corsairs iCUE software it has the ability to go up and down in DPI steps of 1 instead of steps of 100 like the PRO. Is it a major upgrade? No. Is it a worthwhile upgrade? Yes.

If you have particularly short hands this mouse may be a little bit of a struggle to use. My partner hates it with her small hands. But for me with fairly big hands it's perfect. It fits really really well and no matter the grip (be it claw, palm etc) it effortlessly gets the job done.

Along the sides the material used is different to the material used on the top of the mouse. I found it a little annoying at first as it is a little bit of a jarring texture however I believe this could be to help with gripping the mouse. After a few days-one week of using the mouse however I no longer noticed the difference in textures.

In actual games it performs great. I combined it with a "HyperX HX-MPFS-S-XL FURY S Speed Edition Pro" mouse pad and it really does do one hell of a job. I play Overwatch primarily and tracking as well as flicking are an absolute breeze.

All In all for the price it's a really solid piece of kit. Is it the best gaming mouse out there? Probably not. Is it the worst? Far from it. I'd recommend this mouse to anybody looking to get a pretty mouse without compromising on performance.
