Looks nice, feels light, footprint small, can be used on the go as only has usb connection, but unreliable. The one I received was faulty and such fault appears to be a common issue. Installed it correctly. Started scanning. The scanner warms up, starts the scan, appears to hesitate just before reaching the end of the glass screen, retreats by a few centimeters, attempts again to reach the end of the screen, stops, returns to start position, gives an error code and states "Scanner cannot communicate with computer, reinstall driver software". Googled the error code, found an answer from Cannon dating back to 2007 simply asking you to reinstall the software. Did this several times alas with no success. Gave up and returned it as faulty. In my opinion it is not a software issue but mechanical. I reckon the scanner got damaged in transit due to rough handling and this probably gets the drive train out of alignment hence impeding the scan to reach completion. When googling I realised this appears to be a common issue with Cannon scanners. I also found another review advising people not to buy electronic goods through Bargain Fox because of the rough handling they receive in transit - I find myself agreeing with this review. Most 'mechanical' items received through Bargain Fox were usable, while the only electronic one I ordered was faulty out of the box.
