We were really impressed with the one we ordered.... To start with! We probably managed about 6 soups which were all great and having 2 little kids to rub around after meant that I didn't have to stay at the hob and constantly check on it. BUT.... it then cut out in the middle of one of the soups.... Around 7 mins in. And no matter what I did, it wouldn't turn back on. So we returned it thinking we had a dud.
Bargain Fox were really good and sent us out a replacement only the same thing happened this time during the 2nd soup I tried to make in it. Once again, cut out around 7 mins in. Once again, wouldn't turn back on.
Some research told us that this is quite common with the Morphy Richards soup makers (all models). They cut out to prevent overheating. Well this is great and all but doesn't help me in the middle of cooking lunch esp when it eventually does switch back on, the programme has reset itself so it's not like you can even carry on with your cooking from where you left off. Also, when I had this problem, I hadn't used the soup maker at all up until that point meaning that the item wasn't already warmed up. I also tried using cold/luke warm stock but the same problem arose.
So it was sadly sent back for a refund. Shame because we really enjoyed the product when it actually worked. They seem to be very temperamental.
