Another tedious remake (I do like nods to the past but this goes way too far) of one of the first three films. This time it's Empire Strikes Back. Looks wonderful but lacks spark, wit, origional story line and Luke is still a whining git. Words fail me as it's such a missed opportunity.

      Sadly not that good

Lots of issues with plot - after 8 Star Wars films (inc R1) fuel is suddenly an issue, build up if certain plot points in The Force Awakens are disregarded, certain storylines in this film seem to be pointless (Finn & Rose) and I have to agree with Mark Hamill when he said he fundamentally disagreed with virtually every choice Rian Johnson made for Luke. On the plus side lightsabers and the Milenium Falcon will always be cool

Good to be given an offer We can now move onto this from The Force while daughter can see it again I had to leave cinema so I can finish the film The film is good and expected to be total relaxation before Christmas goose package when there maybe Christmas films Total rubbish it may be according to one review but thundering good rubbish it is and while I may be better and can sit at home the girls do not wish to battle Cribbs Causeway at Christmas so we borrowed Winnie from the library Christopher Robin and now have seen half the Star Wars this next Thank you very much for your provision Having met Spielberg animator's daughter a qualified in her own right who helped rebuild Scotland I am very impressed as from making models I know how difficult animation is. Nuts we may be but then you have to be out there to try horses climbing rocks Great Aunts Teaching Laboratory and the pouring rain; Nonsense it all is, Julia Roberts Hugh Grant I can now sit with my back to the sea and eat fruit in peace and sleep ready for the next film. We shall pick up some other at the cinema now the Internet is super speed I can look at BT download.

What the hell is wrong with these people, do they hate Star Wars????

Well, it had actors and spaceships and explosions and other stuff I like. But, sometimes, if you can't cook, you put the right ingredients together in the wrong order, in the wrong amounts and for good measure, just because you think you know better, you throw in some crap and over cook it. What were they thinking????

One of the very best Star Wars films

Ignore the online troll reviews, this is one of the best star wars films. The characters along with the script and acting are fantastic. Mark Hamill portraying Luke Skywalker does an excellent job, its his best acting performance in any of the films. Along with all that you have fantastic action, cinematography, music and a great third act. It does something different rather than just copy what has come before. The new force powers are cool too....

I really don't know why this film was panned by so many people. I loved it. I thought it had great action, good story development and incredible special effects. I went to see it four times at the cinema and I bought the Blu-ray the day it came out.

this film has not got the charm of previous films in the series

this film promotes a woman protagonist which reflects current modern views, and her acting is commendable. however, the film itself seems to lack the charm of earlier productions, with a story line I found disappointing. I would recommend visiting other 'on-line' reviews before purchasing.

Totally unpredictable, the Star Wars film the Saga needed and finally got!

Not since The Empire Strikes Back have we had a Star Wars film that presents an unpredictable cliffhanger story in the vein of the old movie serials Star Wars was originally based on. Sets up a finale with episode 9 that can literally go in many directions. Great picture, great disc package all around with directors commentary, deleted scenes and a vast set of features documentaries worthy of the movie. The main 90 minute featurette on the making of the movie is probably the most insightful look at a Star Wars film done yet and worth the price alone.

      For hardened fans only

So far I have watched all the films in the series and although not a die hard fan have enjoyed them all to some degree or another, especially the last couple. For whatever reason this film left me cold from the very start, from the lone star fighter attacking the empire ship to the podgy Luke Skywalker and the appearance of Princess Leia. I think the films producer tried too hard to make a Star Wars film with all the lovable original actors and forgot to make a film to entertain. I would love to write more about this film but I gave up on it after half an hour.
