The best keyboard that I have ever had!

Without a doubt, this is the best keyboard that I have ever had. The keystroke is positive and the keys are spaced perfectly. The layout is good with the extra function keys actually being useful. The quality of the build materials is high and it feels very solidly built. The USB Cable is 72 inches in length so should be fine for most people.

The LED back lighting is just right too, not too bright and not too dull either. However, this leads to the only negative that I have with the keyboard. The necessary software to control the LED lights is not included in the box! The lights still work without it, but it just cycles through each colour over and over. After finding and installing the software, I can now set the LED's to how I want it. Using the software I can also program the extra function keys to perform certain actions too. Why didn't Logitech put a software CD in the box considering it's importance to getting the best use of this keyboard? Crazy!

The keyboard loses a star for the lack of software CD but don't let it put you off. The keyboard itself is excellent and otherwise I am very happy with my purchase and I have no qualms recommending it.

      Great budget RGB keyboard

When shopping, I had two options; a membrane keyboard or a mechanical keyboard. The only requirements were that it had RGB lighting and a number pad. I decided to go with this keyboard as it was reasonably priced compared to mechanical keyboards that also met the criteria.

I love the keyboard. It is much quieter than my older Dell keyboard, which sounded like the stereotypical click-clack keyboard of days gone by. It hasn't failed to recognise a keystroke and it doesn't have a problem keeping up when I'm typing a lot of text. The media controls are useful; it's easy to hit the mute button if needed and the play, stop and seek buttons work with everything I've tried.

The LEDs are fairly bright, but not as bright as my partner's Corsair keyboard. There are five LED zones, so the transition between colours is a bit more noticeable than a keyboard with individually addressable LEDs. The software is easy to use. There are a multitude of different lighting effects, such as solid colour, flashing, fading etc, and it can also sample your monitor and attempt to match the colour. This a nice little feature which creates an Ambilight-esque appearance.

It feels solidly built. The keyboard is fairly heavy for its size, which suggests that durable materials are used. I have noticed a bit of wear on the space bar already, though I tend to tap it with my nail so I can't really fault the manufacturer for that.

In conclusion, if you want a reasonably priced RGB keyboard and don't care if it's not mechanical, buy it. If you're wanting something with individually addressable LEDs and mechanical switches, I'd look at Corsair keyboards.

Common issues - CTRL key does'nt work - trivial sensation for programming

Well, I'm a programmer so I'm coding everyday, the sensation seems really trivial, it's a kind of mix between membrane and mechanics keyboard. After 2 days of use, my CTRL key is dysfunctionnal, I have to press really hard and on the right position because it works 1 times out of 3. i read reviews, it seems like a common issue with logitech keyboard (e.g. see logitech community forum). I do not recommend it, if you're lucky you could take the risk.
I did not send it back because it would be too long and complicated because I ordered it to France.

I highly prefer my old keyboard Logitech Wireless MK250 for coding I used to use for around $19

EDIT : I have to dismount and remount my key regularly because sometimes, I don't know why it becomes dysfunctional. Thus, Just try it if you have the same issue, watch some tuto to do it properly

Amazing would recommend - Media controls, Saved my ears!!!

Very Nice keyboard!! Would Totally recommend. Great feature with the media control keys. The mute key is the best when in an open chat in a game and there are 3 year olds screaming down the mic, Nice and easy way to shut them up!!Would totally recommend.

Good, nicely designed keyboard - Though my keyboard was faulty.

To start this short review, I would like to point out that I have used this keyboard for just over 3 hours now. I do not want to put off any potential buyers looking into buying this keyboard. Logitech rarely goes wrong with their devices and peripherals. However, today is the day I had a faulty purchase. Upon buying the keyboard, there was nothing wrong exterior-wise, just the fact that a single key, and as it turns out to be the most important key for gaming, did not fully function correctly.

The 'W' key was faulty in a sense that pushing the button down with small force did not trigger the function of the button. I had to either angle it forwards and push down or push down a bit harder in the centre to trigger it. The problem I have with this is that a so-called 'gaming keyboard' SHOULD NOT have any problems with its keys, ESPECIALLY the most important heavily-used keys like 'WASD' (hence the 2 stars in the 'for gaming' category). In my honest opinion, if the 'W' key or any valuable key is faulty, or not functioning at 100% as it should be, it should be returned and reconfigured by the manufacturers. But like the title states, my keyboard turned out to be faulty. I do not speak on behalf of every keyboard sent to each customer.

On a side note, the positives of the keyboard are that, if you choose to buy the keyboard with the palm rest/wrist rest, there is plenty of space without the trouble of getting Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) from long-term gaming hours. It is comfortable and the additional sound/volume audio control located at the top right section of the keyboard is very accessible and has a nice rubber feel to the buttons. I cannot comment on the durability of the keyboard since I had it for roughly 3 hours before packing it all back up in getting ready to send it back. All in all, it is a fairly comfortable keyboard to use, but to ensure what I said is 100% accurate, I will purchase the keyboard (hoping this time it will have no faults) again and see how it goes.

It should be noted as well that you cannot control the backlighting RGB of the keyboard itself, it goes on a rotation of the spectrum of colours (16 million colours or however many it claims to have) and you also cannot control how bright the backlit colour is either. You can only turn it on or off. But it is not highly bright nor is it dim, so in my opinion, it has the right amount of brightness.

I rate it 3 stars in total overall, due to the 'W' faulty key, had it been not a problem, it would have been a solid 4 stars for what it has to offer in the extra advanced features.

      A sturdy good quality keyboard

      This review is for the:

Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard, RGB Backlit, Qwerty UK Layout, Black

After taking up gaming at the ripe old age of 56, needing something to fill the time during Lockdown III the Sequel. I decided I needed to update aa lot of my equipment.

Already a great fan of Logitech and having used both their mice and keyboard in the past, I decided I would purchase their gaming versions. They say you “Get what you pay for”, I have always found their products to be well built. The Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard is no exception. The design is perfect not only for gaming, but everyday PC uses. A full size keyboard, with the added gaming functionality in addition to the pretty lights – “Yes I know, boys and their toys!”

      As for the Specs:
      • Personalise five individual lighting zones from a spectrum of over 16.8 million colours on this RGB keyboard
      • Full-sized gaming RGB keyboard designed for gaming and productivity; the slim body is built for gamers of all levels with a durable construction that repels liquids, crumbs and dirt for easy clean-up
      • This gaming keyboard brings together in tactile feel and performance with keys built specifically for the way gamers play
      • The anti-ghosting gaming matrix on this gaming keyboard is tuned for optimal gaming performance, keeping you in control when you press multiple gaming keys simultaneously

The keyboard is a wired keyboard; thus reaction times are excellent in my opinion. Although I normally go for the wireless version, my son advised a wired one for gaming.

It should be noted that I purchased this to be both a gaming keyboard as well as for everyday use. Those expert gamers out there will probably prefer a dedicated gaming keyboard. However, if you want a good quality gaming/normal use keyboard, this one ticks all the boxes. Although it must be pointed out this is a personal opinion, and I am extremely new the “wild world” of gaming. To be honest I normally call my son to ask for his advice.

Although a little on the expensive side, as previously mentioned to get what you pay for. In this case a quality keyboard, well made from sturdy materials. Accurate and easy to use with additional programmable buttons. In addition, it comes with a 2 year Logitech warranty.

I hope you found this review useful (if so please take a second to click that box). I take the time to write reviews to help other potential customers, giving honest unbiased opinions. I pay for all the items I review.

Completely useless for push to talk

The layout is great and comfortable, the lighting customisation is perfectly adequate too (although the software is a little clunky). The media keys and volume controls are also great however, there's definitely a fault with this keyboard.

Others have mentioned before how keys stop working early on.
The biggest issue I've found is that you cant hold down keys, it's as if the keyboard forgets you have a key held down. I prefer to use a PTT option on voice software such as Discord and about 75% of the time, my voice gets cut off because the keyboard forgets I'm holding a key down. Have tried changing the PTT multiple times, all the same issue. It may be a generic fault with this keyboard thus I have now returned it.

Such a shame as Logitech are usually pretty decent. Unfortunately I don't recommend buying this keyboard, spend your cash on something more reliable.

Premium Gaming Keyboard From A Decent Pricepoint

The Logitech G213 Prodigy Gaming Keyboard is the best keyboard I have ever seen or purchased. The mechanical switches underneath the keys provide a satisfying click when pressed, and feel both premium and durable. The two adjustable feet underneath it put it at a slant which is very comfortable, especially due to its wrist-rest.

The RGB lighting is very bright and can be seen quite prominently in all environments - be it day or night. I like the audio control pannel at the top-right of the keyboard - it is perfect for watching videos or listening to music. However, the main thing that sets this piece of hardware apart from its competitors is its customisation. The software, that can be downloaded from the official Logitech website, can be used on all OS, be it MacOS, Windows 7 (if you must), or Windows 10 (the platform I use it on). When downloaded, it is easy to navigate, and isn't too complex, unlike other software that I have used in the past. You can change the colours, the amount of colours, the type of lighting, and the frequency of the RGB lighting without effort, making it very user-friendly. Or, if you're a bit more of a tech-wiz (unlike me) you can further set tasks for different keys, or disable certain keys when enabling "Game Mode" (Trust me, it's not as complex as it sounds).

Overall, a very premium keyboard that looks, feels and is durable and elegant. From both a productivity perspective and a gaming perspective, if you want a solid keyboard from a decent pricepoint - then this is the keyboard for you.

I thank you for taking the time to read my review of this product, and I hope that it has helped you come to a decision in your purchase.

      Disappointed.

      Quality ---
The quality of the colours is good. Perfect colour combination and several different settings to portray this.
The button pressing was good for the first month and then as soon as I went to clean the dust from within the keyboard, problems occurred.
The only key that causes me issues is the space bar. The space bar will double press itself when I press it once,
the left hand side doesn't register the press of the space bar but the right side does?
I hear a shake from the metal piece holding the space bar each time I press it. It's rather annoying. All keys around the space bar have also become a problem where when I press b once, it'll duplicate....? why.

I thought It wouldn't be a problem, however as a few more weeks went on, the space bar just became a really big problem where it wouldn't register spaces at all. For £33, avoid it. Can get better quality keyboards for £20.

      Comfort ---
It's fine, haven't found anything about it that makes me feel uncomfortable except the space bar.

      Extra buttons ---
I find the volume buttons useful and their extra button used to prevent pressing keys to operate when you're gaming is also a good feature.

      Logitech app ---
Completely useless with the g213 keyboard. Most of the colour settings people created are for other keyboards. You won't find anything for the g213... Why provide us with the option of searching through designed colour settings if you won't let us adjust the colours to the keyboard....? ok.

      Overall ---
I wish I could get a refund or a exchange for a fixed keyboard. However, coronavirus came around the corner and it got me stuck with this. How unfortunate. I'd say avoid this keyboard, you can get a keyboard which actually doesn't fall apart when you're trying to clean it, especially for this price.
