      Only 75% useful

Unfortunately, although these cartridges arrived on time, when put into my printer only the colours worked, the black was worse than the 'empty' cartridge I had taken out! It seems to be totally dry. Sorry - although quick delivery and seem to be genuine HP cartridges, I doubt if I'll use this supplier again as I've had to get a separate black cartridge to get on with my work. Tried contacting the supplier - but was simply referred to HP printers suggesting it was a printer problem - which it wasn't. Pity they could just accept contacts, it hasn't helped my opinion of the supplier!

NOT QUITE WHAT IT SAID ON THE TIN

This product arrived on time but outside its box. The cost is cheaper than at other shops as it has apparently been discontinued by the manufacturer. It ought to work with my HP printer but I have the feeling this item is not entirely genuine.
I'm waiting with bated breath to see if it would work once I replace the existing genuine cartridges.
Reason for a 2* rating is that picture in order does not match the item received. I'd have expected the cartridge to be inside the original package.
It does not have an orange hard plastic lock that needs to be broken before placing them in the cartridge cradle.
I suspect these are refills but I may be wrong. If it works fine, if it does not I shall be updating my review accordingly.
Since writing above seller has advised that product is genuine and it is normal to remove from box. Suggested that it may be less misleading if cartridges are shown outside original HP box. Then we all know exactly what we are buying.

      Okay when it works

These cartridges contain pathetically small quantities of ink. If you have a print problem and run print cleaning a few times your ink may well be gone before you've actually printed anything. I've owned four HP Deskjets over the years and have had enough with the poor performance, they always end up with clogged print heads that can't be cleaned. The cartridges seem to have a lot less ink in them than they used to as well as being a lot less reliable. Time to buy something else I think and it wont be HP.

Faulty HP Cartridges .. the second time this has happened to me

These cartridges only worked for a short while before running out of ink and yet are supposed to be genuine HP products. I had the same problem with another printer recently and had to spend 2 hours on the online support to HP before they finally agreed that the cartridges they had sent me were faulty. They would send new ones but it would take six weeks to get here. Still waiting two months on. So I won't be going to the online support system to report this one. I will buy local and take them back if faulty in future. Expensive mistake on my part.

      Great Quality.

These are always reliable and great quality cartridges, which produce an excellent quality print out and last for a decent length of time in usual use. The only thing that I feel could be said in a negative way is that they are quite expensive, (though cheaper here than in most shops, I have found), the price seems to be edging higher each time I buy, which is quite regularly. I use these HP original cartridges to be as sure as I can, as I mentioned at the start, that the results in printing are reliably of a high standard.

      Expensive!

The problem with HP printers is that they often throw a wobbly when using so-called compatible inks, as I found out to my cost, so I now stick to the originals. They are expensive – but not as expensive as a new high-end printer. I wonder if they are trying to force us into their 'instant ink' subscription service? This is a handy way to buy original HP ink cartridges, although you'll still need to buy the photo black ink separately. These are the high yield cartridges though they certainly don't seem to last as long as they used to.

Useless unless planning to be a secret agent

Purchased a while ago, stored as a backup because who wants that stressful situation when an important document must be printed with signature to add and there is no ink in the printer?
Only fools don’t prepare for all eventualities and all that.
Well on Friday the 13th, no less, I did urgently need to print said document and the laugh really was on me because I felt assured that my stored, sealed cartridge only purpose had been to sit there in the drawer just waiting for it’s moment. As I lifted it out of the drawer, I imagined how awful it would be to have not had this cartridge on this day.
I clicked it into place - fresh, crisp black ink against white paper would soon be mine.

The printer thought about it, clattering ensued as the paper began to emerge. But what was this? Second attempt, third attempt. Blank sheet after blank sheet with each amused repeat drawing me closer to that expletive word salad finale when I would realise that this had been a horribly, hopeless pride in HP’s ability to grant me identity. I didn’t exist on paper. Unless my document was intended to be deciphered by a secret agent at a later date, all I had was invisible ink. As the clock’s minutes accelerated, I knew I must relinquish any Smidgel smugness over that lone, ink cartridge - saviour of the day.

I prised my sweaty palms from the sides of the printer to see the words ‘Error, this ink cartridge is faulty’.
My brain said “Bahahaha, and you thought you were prepared, pah! Life is hard and cruel, understand this”

So now, here I am on a Sunday, yet again, buying black ink cartridges. Three this time! All in the hope of overthrowing any propensity for despair.

I have found the regular sized ones to be more cost effective than the XL mainly down to the gene...

Needed a replacement cartridge fairly quickly so used Bargain Fox Locker to buy this one and have it ready for pick up on the way back home. When looking at the black cartridges, I have found the regular sized ones to be more cost effective than the XL mainly down to the general poor build quality of all HP cartridges with the tendency for them to clog and leave hard residues on the print foil if you are not a daily user of your printer. This works as intended, not much more to say.

Don't last as long as they used to.

Maybe I'm just getting old and forgetful but I'm sure the XL cartridges used to last longer than they do now.

Although I'm not a high frequency printer I would never buy the standard cartridges any more in favour of these ones. Having four separate cartridges is good as they can each be changed independently but I maybe need a five pack with an extra black cartridge.

Also, compare the price of the individual cartridges against this pack price. Sometimes it works out cheaper to buy them individually.
