This Vax U85-AS-Be Air Stretch Upright Vacuum is a must-have great power suction it's very quiet and light to use, I vacuumed the carpets the day before using a conventional hoover before this baby arrived, as soon as it was out the box it was in use I was very surprised to see the debris this vacuum picked up that the normal type vacuum missed.

The flexible extending pipe is just that, it allows you to leave the vacuum at the bottom of the stairs while vacuuming from the top to the bottom step.

The power lead is very long some will say too long, but there again some will say short leads aren't long enough there's no pleasing some people.

This is a great vacuum cleaner well worth the outlay, very powerful and you can certainly see where you've been after use as it lifts the pile of the carpet with ease.

for cleaning I have found this vacuum to be very good, easy to push, good pick up from the carpets, my one issue is the type of cable used. instead of the usual round cable, Vax have used a flat cable. the flat cable makes it harder to store on the machine as it is prone to become twisted and if the twist are not removed the cable will be come kinked which if not sorted will lead to the internal wires breaking. of course the twisting and kinking also make storing the cable more difficult. to sort our the twists after each use is a pain and adds several minutes to the storage of the cable on the machine. for me this is a bad design feature.

Great product; lifted the dust out of my rugs in no time, with limited effort.The extended length of the cord can be a little bothersome but you just have to get on with it. Overall a very good vacuum. Much lighter than my old cylinder vacuum. Would highly recommend.

Well I purchased this after my dyson (the ball one) died. I read the reviews and despite a couple of dodgy ones I proceeded. So far so good and really pleased. A negative comment was the suction was too much (yahar?!) it’s perfect for my three GSD and five cat house! The lead is too long (yahar!! again) it’s perfect, I plug in in the hall and it reaches all over the house! Another plus! The cylinder is twice the size of the dyson so less emptying, and the head bit is low profile meaning you can get under cabinets etc. So all in all very pleased. One downside is it’s a conventional hoover so doesn’t have the manoeuvrability of the ball type Dyson BUT 1 slight negative against all the pro’s so 5* for me?!

I bought this to replace my old Vax Mach Air which broke down after 10 years - Sadly unable to repair. So this Vax Air Stretch looks exactly the same, except the electric cable is much longer - so much that I only have to plug into one socket and can hoover the whole of my 3 bed bungalow!! Great - although it does mean that the cable is a bit heavier to handle and manoeuvre. I found that the sealed brush head part is slightly bigger too. The only thing that perhaps I wasn't too keen on was the fact that it seemed quite a bit heavier than my old Vax - or maybe it's the suction power that is much better. Overall impression - a great vacuum cleaner with really good suction and I would recommend.

We bought this purely for the specs. "A" for hard floors and carpets sold it for us, and the price was very good.
To be fair the vacuum is really powerful and will do the job perfectly.
The reason I'm rating it so low is because using it is far from being a good experience - ignoring the fact vacuuming was never a particular favorite for me.
The vacuum is heavy which after vacuuming the whole house can make a difference and because of its size, it's not easy to manoeuvre. The fact the suction is so powerful makes the vacuum feel even heavier because of the resistance.
The other "feature" I don't like is the cable management. You have to manually roll the cable around two clips in the vacuum and while you are vacuuming the cable can get everywhere, making it more difficult to vacuum. The cable is very long - which can be both good and bad!

This vacuum is better than I expected. I would normally avoid an upright vacuum but read the reviews and thought I would give it ago seeing as th pull along one I had was useless. The carpet aggrivater really made a hug difference to the condition of my carpet. It was like brand new after I have finished hoovering. The only negative is that the reach is not as good as the video suggests.This vacuum is really good value for money and I would not go back to a pull along vacuum after this.

My Dyson failed just out of guarantee so looked for alternative. Decided the VAX was the one as it had all I required of a cleaner.Unpacked it, put the bits together, switched it on and away it went. Suction is so good it does make it a little harder to push along but will get used to it I am sure. Not to heavy to lift upstairs and the hose attachment is far superior to the Dyson. The extra long lead means that all downstairs can be cleaned from one socket with no unplugging needed. Same for the upstairs.At the special price it has got to be a really good buy.

The only hoover I was looking at in this price brand (paid £99.99) was a Henry or Hetty, and I wasn’t planning on spending that much given how many vacuums we seem to go through However, seeing this on offer changed my mind. It’s not that heavy, has a great reach, especially with the hose extender, and the suction is incredible. I didn’t realise how much the old vacuums were not picking up until until using this. It’s given the carpets a new lease of life, which is great, especially with there being 6 of us and the dog around. The main issue is that there is only a small cylinder, and. If you use the extra suction (which gets the best results), it makes the hoover feel heavy because of the power causing the vacuum to need that extra push to move. Also, watch what you do suck up as there is a slight gap at the edge of the brush that can collect things that stop it if it gets wrapped round (e.g. thick thread). Happy with this and have recommended it to friends.

I am delighted with my Vax vacuum, the suction is quite remarkable and is better than my Dyson.I was going to go with a Shark but decided on this instead and I am so very glad that I did.I didn't get the pet one even though we have a furry k9 that lives with us, this one is fabulous for getting all the fur up.I would highly recommend this vacuum.
