The first thing you hear when switching these on is noise. Clearly audible, constant level white noise, regardless of the power source (I have tested it also with a power bank to eliminate a possibility of a ground loop), even with the source cable unplugged. The noise level is way higher than that of my PC, although the latter is pretty quiet to be fair. At higher volume settings there is also some higher pitched noise to add insult to injury. There is a chance that only some units are affected by this, but I suspect it is a design issue.
I did not spend much time listening to the sound reproduction as their quality was unacceptable anyway, but I found it underwhelming given the size of these speakers, all things considered. I have a set of way smaller PC speakers that produce a similar sound, so the Arys make no real use of their relatively big dimensions (in PC speaker terms).
Not recommended.
EDIT: In hindsight, this review was half as useful without some comparison - I have eventually bought PreSonus Eris e3.5. It is 3x the price, at least when writing this update, slightly bigger, but in subjective terms, it offers way more than a 3x better experience.
