What a complete and utter shambles of a product this is.
You'll realise when you receive it and read the instructions that this is far from a "Pro" shredder.
The instructions tell you that it should not be used for more than 3 continuous minutes. If you do that, guess what happens? It overheats and the "thermal cut-off" stops it operating and you have to wait.....30 minutes! Half an hour? The cut-off kicks in after about 13 sheets of paper in my use of it. Then, if you wait 30 minutes, you'll have done 39 sheets in an hour - from a device that claims to be able to do 11 sheets at a time?
The cut-out will let the machine operate again after about 10 minutes but it will then stop again after no more than 5 sheets.
How on earth Rexel think this makes it a professional (by name only, I grant them that) shredder is completely beyond me.
I bought it on offer for £59. Had I paid that full £380 or whatever the usually charge for it, I would have been incredibly angry. The unit itself is heavy, noisy but looks well made. It is the technical capabilities of it that make it a complete let down of a machine.
In summary, if you want to spend £60 or £380, you're better off taking the money and putting it in a shredder actually capable of disposing of it for you!
