A must buy if breastfeeding! Love them. Painless

These are a life saver and my best purchase since becoming a mum. After breastfeeding for 8 days I was about to give up in pain! Midwife says about nipple shields. They work amazingly. In fact my boy seems to be drooling in milk after a feed. I’ve bought 3 packs of these now to keep me going through night without keep sterilising. Sterilising is super easy in microwave only taking 3 mins. And most importantly I’m in no pain whatsoever anymore, not even using nipple cream anymore!

A must for mums on the verge of giving up breastfeeding!

I bought these on recommendation from a friend, I also wanted to introduce a bottle a day of expressed milk and bought the mam bottles so thought it would make sense to use the same brand of shields. My little one struggled to latch and I ended up with cracked, sore nipples. There were tears all round! I was on the verge of giving up. These provided a bit of protection and helped my little one to latch on. They are very soft and comfortable to use, and the cut outs mean baby's nose and chin are still in contact with your skin. Overall they are easy to use, if a little inconvenient for public breastfeeding (I've started to express and take a bottle out) or feeding in the dark as you need to put them on and see what you're doing, however I imagine this is the same story for all nipple shields! They come in a handy case. I wash mine and sterilise them in Milton a couple of times a day so I bought two pairs to save on too much washing and sterilising. I would say this size will fit most nipples. I bought the small but found them too small and thin for what I consider to be my normal sized nipples! Fyi it's totally normal to have a gap at the end, you're not supposed to fill the whole shield up or else your nipple gets drawn into the two holes at the end and that painful (as I found after incorrectly placing the small size!). We're still using them 3 weeks on. You hear mixed opinions on nipple shields however these have not affected my supply and I personally think it's preferable to stopping breastfeeding which is what I was close to doing (not that there is anything wrong with formula at all, it's all personal preference!).

      Absolute game changer - AMAZING

My little girl is 7 weeks tomorrow and up until now I’ve been combi feeding via expressing and formula, due to breastfeeding being complete agony. My nipples were so badly damaged that I had to see a doctor.
However, I am determined to feed my girl as naturally as possible, plus the pumping is taking over my life...I tried a chemists own brand shield and they were useless, may as well have put a bit of cling film on my nipples.
I then tried these, not expecting much and oh my god I could cry with the relief at having found the answer to my problems.
I’ve been using them for 3 days and my life is changed - no more pain, I’m now exclusively breastfeeding. Amazing.
I’ll be ordering a couple more pairs for fear of losing these!
Please try these before giving up on breastfeeding. The first time I used them I wasn’t 100% sure but now I’m so happy and impressed and my little lady is very happy too, far more content being fed with these than by bottle.
      Game changer!

      Please read URGENT

Do NOT use it unless u want to ruin ur babys eatting. Long story short my baby had to use a lot of power to eat and unfortunately these silicone covers Don't really let him drink all milk obvs so in a few weeks my breast milk went to zero, and when we went into formula, he was using same strength to suck the bottle making him gag and choke on formula, not a pretty picture. Please consider this before purchasing these...if i could turn back time I'd would have not used them for sure....

Amazing for flat nipples, i almost gave up trying to breast feed until got these

So on day 2 with a new born i was really struggling to latch baby to my flat nipples, (my nips point abit but go flat when warm, baby stuggles find my nipples)
I can eventually get a latch without sheilds but its very tricky and baby gets too stress,
      baby would cry
      i would cry
      We were all crying.
Until i got these nipple sheilds,
I was supprised that they actually stick on quite well with no effort, when my baby has had enough its still attached and full of milk so shes definitely getting a good feed using these.
Definitely saved me from giving up breast feeding.
Obviously they need washing and sterlising often which is an added step to your routine, but 100% worth it for me and my baby

Amazing if you have naturally flat nipples

As a new mum I've read a lot about the do's and dont's about breastfeeding. Nipple shields just were not recommended. And I found myself playing by the book rather than what would be best for me and my new baby. The first two days of breastfeeding my baby struggled to latch on. My nipples are flat and with my milk coming in, getting my Baba to latch on properly and for her to stay on became increasingly hard. And alike a lot of other ladies, sore and stinging nipples became apparent very soon. It even led me to express some milk and feed my baby with a siringe before the shields arrived.I couldn't be more happier with these shields. I cried tears of joy listening to my baby take big gulps and for her to stay on the boob for a decent feed.I had already planned to bottle feed in the future to my partner can have his time too and for the extra help. So using the shields might help with that. These shields are a god send.

Finally a nipple shield that makes breastfeeding easy

After a week of toe curling discomfort during breastfeeding, these nipple shields are a game changer that mean I won’t be tempted to give up on breastfeeding. Other shields I bought are too big and no help for a shirt/small nipple. The teat on this shield is firmer and pointier (like a bottle teat) that the lacking on has been effortless. I can’t recommend these any more highly to anyone struggling with breastfeeding.

      Life saver

First of all, thank heavens for this product, my baby wouldn't latch for many days since birth, I have tried everything, it was very frustrating and tiring until I was advised to get those...
Even though my baby was feeding of the bottle, once I placed one of the nipples on my breast he immediately latched and I'm finally breastfeeding without having to express first!

      I couldn't be more happy!

Product is delicate, although suction power is quite weak it's not much of a problem once your baby is attached to the breast, very easy to clean, you can sterilise it in a microwave using the little box that nipples come with.

Dear moms, don't give up on breastfeeding before you try it!

      Very happy with

Extremely happy with these. My baby and I have a failure to latch since birth and as soon as we was home from hospital I purchased these as I am determined to breastfeed rather then express and bottle. My baby took to them straight away with no hesitation and I have not needed to express since started using these (been three weeks). They stick on to me with ease and do not fall off often, they are easy to clean and I love that they come in their own microwavable steraliser case for convenient steralising on the go. Very happy with these and I highly recommend.

Great temporary remedy to ease latching troubles from tongue-tie.

My midwife recommended I get nipple shields when baby was a week old and was identified as having a tongue tie.

She couldn’t latch properly and took loads of time and effort to get enough milk. We spent all her awake time nursing which left my nipples very sore and she’d fall asleep hungry from the effort.

PROS: these shields provided enough protection for my nipples to heal whist still nursing. Baby found these much easier to latch onto when she had the tongue tie. The sterilisation case is a handy feature.

The nipple shields combined with catching let-down in a silicone pump to feed baby as a top-up after nursing meant that we had no problems with weight gain while we waited for her tongue-tie division procedure.

However, they had some very frustrating aspects which meant that I was relieved when I didn’t need to use them anymore.

CONS: They’re hard to put on effectively, especially one handed. You can kind of slap them on in a hurry but they’ll probably fall off mid feed, or may come away in baby’s mouth when they pull their head off. It’s difficult to use them discreetly and I didn’t feel comfortable feeding in public while using them. It’s yet another thing to have to remember to keep clean and next to you for feeds, so I kept one upstairs by the bed and one by my downstairs feeding spot.

Also be aware that it can take weeks to wean baby off nipple shields and learn how to latch onto the nipple properly. Once my nipples were less sore, I’d regularly skip the shields and top up the feed with a bottle, so baby was used to alternating between nipple and silicone teat. I think this helped her re-learn how to nurse without using shields after the procedure.

Overall, the benefits greatly outweighed the frustration as they helped my baby continue to gain weight and helped both of us continue breastfeeding while we waited for a tongue-tie division procedure.
