      Excellent mouse for the price

Was a bit concerned by some of the reviews but shouldn't have been - this is exactly what you'd hope it would be for the price. Simple, not packed with features (as far as I've used it) but basically is a mouse, works on bluetooth, perfectly Mac compatible incidentally (on Mojave, latest version).

Read some complaints that it keeps disconnecting - yes, it does that, that's because it goes to sleep, and it wakes up as soon as you move or click it. That's a power-saving feature and working as it should. No idea if this causes problems on Windows (sorry) but on Mac that's how it should be, it's just a quirk of OSX that it feels the need to tell you every time it happens. Doesn't drop out during use and can definitely wake computer from sleep.

Why 5 stars for overall rating but only 3 for ergonomic and gaming? Ergonomics are basic, and for gaming I'd expect it to have buttons either side to be genuinely useful, however it's a massive improvement on my previous one for playing Half-Life 2 on Steam, much better control.

      Can be Laggy

This will have been my 3rd tecknet mouse. All the others connect ot the PC via a wireless dongle. This however is bluetooth to which i still have to have a dongle in the machine but this dongle also allows you to run some bluetooth headphones and the like.I cant fault the mouse for basic operation and i have played serval slower paced games using the mouse without issue. However when i came to play world of tanks using the mouse it did suffer noticeable lag make the game virtually unplayable. I have to swap back to my old mouse and the game runs fine. If your not gaming i suspect you;ll be fine, however if you are i would recommend one of the wireless dongle units rather than this just to rule out possible lag. Update. i Have changed the rating down to two stars as some times it seems to disconnect from BT altogether and i have to reconnect my old tecknet. The old one the mouse but switch is faulty so its almost impossible to click and hold (drag items) but still works better in fast game with no lag if i dont need a drag function. I still like tecknet as a manufacturer but im not keen on this bluetooth mouse and wouldn't recommend it

Works well but ergonomics could be improved.

This mouse was bought as a quick replacement when my middle button packed up on my last one. The mouse connected to my laptop easily and works well and generally a good shape for the hand however there are a few things which could be improved.
The middle wheel is plastic with a rubber covering on just part of it. This makes the wheel have a squarer edge but it would be better with a complete rubber wheel with softer edges.
The button clicks feel cheap and are rather loud in comparison to other mouses of similar prices I’ve used.
The soft touch side of the mouse makes the mouse less slippy however it has been ruined by the crosses embossed into it, this will take some time to get used to.
It’s nice not to have to carry a dongle to connect the mouse.

Great Value. This is my second one. Very Pleased.

This is my second Tecknet mouse. My first mouse lasted years and the only reason I needed to replace it was because I dropped it from a considerable height and smashed it. After using this mouse for years I find it very reliable and sturdy. I work with computers everyday and as a result I use the mouse almost 24/7 at work and at home. I get about 2 months out of the battery life, considering I use it a great deal more than the average user. At work I find the buttons on the side that allow you to move forward and back on web pages a real time saver. I don't use the function which allows you to change the mouse sensitivity but it is nice to have if I ever need it. I am so pleased with this mouse that when it broke (again my fault) I bought the exact same mouse again, years later. One drawback for me is that the sleep function seems to be designed for windows. I use Ubuntu/Linux and the mouse often fails to sleep. However that clearly isn't enough to put me off buying another.

I highly recommend this mouse. I feel it is great bang for you buck.

I have compared this mouse in the past to the following:
MEMTEQ Wireless Bluetooth Optical Mouse Mice 800/1000/1200/1600DPI for Laptop Notebook
Emprex M997U III Entry Level Wireless Laser Mouse

This mouse far surpasses both of my previous mice.

      Bargain BT Mouse

This bluetooth mouse is a good size, comfortable to use all day and reliable. This one uses regular batteries. Overall, excellent value for money, I really can't see a reason to spend more. I'm using mine on a Dell XPS13 with Windows 10 and had to uncheck the powersave option in the bluetooth adapter settings as my mouse became unresponsive after a couple of seconds of inactivity - works perfectly now.

Awful product but faultless customer service to give the seller their credit!

They say you get what you pay for, so in this case just save your money. Initially the mouse was OK but would have occasional 'episodes' where it would become unresponsive (the cursor would move at about 1/20th of the speed at which you were moving the mouse) meaning it would have to be just left until it powered down (and then you'd wake it up and it would be fine) or take out the battery and start again. As the months have passed, these 'episodes' have become more frequent to the point where the mouse has become unusable. I've tried several new batteries to no avail. The mouse, after just six months has been resigned to the recycling centre.Oh and the on/off button on the bottom of the mouse doesn't actually do anything - the only thing that switched the thing off is when it powers down after a period of inactivity or you take the batter out!*** Update ***I can't increase my start rating because the product was inherently poor however I would like to say that since posting my original review I was contacted by the seller and offered a full refund despite having binned the mouse and therefore being unable to return it. So 5 stars for customer service but still just the one (because I can't give 0) for the product.

Good overall but not the battery life as claimed

The manufacturer claims a 24 month battery life but that is not in line with my experience. I bought the mouse in March 2020 and by Nov 2020 I am on my third set of batteries, so on average the batteries last about 3 months max (and I am using a well-known brand). I use the mouse for work Mon - Fri normal working hours, I don't switch it off overnight as it is supposed to go to sleep and not use the battery when not in use. The ergonomics are good although I don't like the feel of the textured rubber on my thumb, but that is just my personal preference. Otherwise it works well so still giving it 3 stars although considering poor battery performance probably closer to 2 stars.

      Excellent.

The model I ordered (BM306) now takes me to this page. Mine was the version shown in in "Fran's" review below, with the orange side buttons, was originally advertised as having a 12 month battery life, and cost £9.50. The model now shown here is the Tecknet BM308, presumably an updated model. I need another, so will be ordering this "new" model, so will update when it arrives.

I also bought another Tecknet Bluetooth mouse (BM307), that was advertised as having 24 month life (but confusingly, is now advertised as 12 month!). That one had a few issues, notable requiring distinct clicks and a little wait to bring it back to life after going into power saving mode, and also an annoying tendency for the mouse wheel to not register for the first spin. This little beauty was not only cheaper at the time, but exhibits neither of these problems- comes back to life in a blink and so far the batteries have lasted (although I use rechargeables, so as long as they last over a month, I'm happy anyway).

Great little mouse, it's not as weighty as a Logitech, but feels good in the hand, does the same job and doesn't cost £60. Highly recommended.

Update- ordered this "new "version, marked as a BM-308, and it's just as good if not better. To get it out of "sleep" mode just needs a quick wiggle or a mouse click. Mouse wheel is just as responsive. If you need a Bluetooth mouse, I can't think of any reason to spend any more.

      Not for me

      So my main issues are:
1-Accuracy is not great. It's not horrendous just not as good as the wired mouse I've been using. For example if you're trying to close a window you might have to move the mouse twice to get the cursor exactly over the "X" instead of just one. This is despite trying different settings.
2-There is some very mild latency. It's barely noticeable most of the time but to me is not ideal.
3-It needs two AA batteries making it fairly heavy to use and the battery slots are in the both in the bottom half of the mouse leading to uneven weight distribution which just feels weird in the hand.

The build quality and design aesthetics are good and it is easy to install. But for the above reasons I've had to return it.

Keeps losing the connection - returned

Returned this one for the ‘Classic’ version which has a dongle - connects straight away. The Bluetooth version had all kinds of connectivity issues. It doesn’t have a dongle plugged into the USB which probably made it a more difficult pairing task. Worked after trying a few things. Next time I put my laptop on I couldn’t get it to work.

Not sure if it’s the laptop or the mouse but I bought another wireless mouse a week before this one but replaced it as the button was sticky.

Moral of this story is buy cheap by 3 times in my case - Logitech or Microsoft versions only
