Everybody's eczema and dry skin conditions are different and different products work for some and not others. I've always found that Oilatum products work for the majority. It certainly works for me, I can't use E45 products as my skin reacts to that (see what I mean). But I find this generous pump tub to be absolutely great at treating eczema and dry skin. It is best used straight after a shower or bath when your skin pores are open. You should see improvements overnight.

I use this product on a regular basis because I love it and it's very effective. However, when the pump ceases to produce the cream I cut the plastic container in half! It is quite amazing how much is left that it is impossible to get to in the normal fashion. Why on earth can't the product be produced in a jar. Is it a way for the customer to buy more....I suspect so!

my baby had very early on eczema and we have tried many many many creams. This one, in combination with Cetraben, seems to do the trick. Luckily he has outgrown the eczema on his body, but we still have to put cream very regularly on his face (I'd say between 5-10 times a day). We hardly need any cortisone cream anymore and have been praised by the doctors that "whatever you do, it's working", so there you go.

This is the only cream I've tried that has stopped my skin itching. It soaks into the skin quickly, is very moisturising without being greasy and, if used immediately after showering, is very effective on any dry skin patches. I like the pump dispenser - makes it easier to use just the right amount each time. However, once the dispenser stopped producing the cream I decided to carefully cut open the tub - only to discover that there was still almost a quarter of a tub still left inside. I would advise anyone buying this product to do the same. A great product for any dry/itchy skin problem.

My baby suffers from really dry skin and very sensitive skin too. So I tried a few ‘sensitive skin’ products and it made it worse. But this skin works wonders on my little ones skin! Cleared up any dry patches and skin feels and looks beautiful. Definitely will only be buying this from now on.

I have gutatte psoriasis all over my body, and a few patches of plaque psoriasis. Ointments containing steroids are difficult to use when you have several hundred small spots and you want to treat each one but avoid applying to the good skin.
I have tried a variety of moisurising creams that can just be slathered all over the body.

I use Oilatum Oil in a bath and find that it helps to soften my psoriasis and reduce the irritation, so I decided to try this cream also.

It takes a little longer (extra 1 minute or so) to be absorbed by my skin than some other moisturiser/emollients, but perhaps that is simply a function of how thick/viscous it is, and not necessarily a bad thing. Once it has been absorbed, I can feel that there seems to be a slight and very light layer or coating on top of the skin - not feeling oily or greasy, but well moisturised.

I notice an immediate reduction in itching/irritation. As this is a non-steroid, you can apply as much as you want, as often as you want and use on any part of the body.
Some people are allergic or experience irritation from lanolin - this is lanolin free, not all moisturisers are.
However, different people can experience allergic reactions from different things, so it is always advisable to use this on a small patch of skin at first use and look for any reaction over the first few hours.
The container does have a note that it contains cetostearyl alcohol and potassiium sorbate, and it says that these CAN cause local skin reactions.

The cream comes in a sturdy plastic bottle, with a pump dispenser. Two things I really like about the bottle:
- the pump moves positively from the locked to the unlocked position, without needing to depress the piston first and squirting out some of the contents (as is common with many pump dispensers),
- there is also a clip-on plastic collar which fits around the pump-piston, further preventing accidental discharge of contents.
These two features make it very convenient to carry this in a hand-bag, computer bag or with gymn gear and not have it leak all over the other items.

This is amazing stuff, ive used other products, (dove,nivea etc,,) for years and found in some way they have made my skin worse over time. This has alleviated my dry skin. The consistency is quite thick but apart from that i couldn't recommend this product enough

I suffer with very dry skin (atopic eczema) on my face around my eyebrows and eitherside of my nose. I took a punt in trying this emollient cream on my face due to it having the best avaerage reviews. Unfortunately this product reacted with my face and made my eczema even worse.The product itself feels too thick and it has a horrid smell. I don’t recommend for people with sensitive skin.Of note: I had to find a quick replacement to calm my eczema down and Childs Farm baby moisturiser has really done the trick in two days.

Got a little contact dermatitis on my arms and bought Oilatum cream and Oilatum Bath Oil to rectify it. To my horror the rash spread to my neck and then quickly to my chest. Turned the house upside down looking for anything that could trigger an allergy, laundry detergent binned ect.Then tonight I realized that my skin got extremely irritated a couple of hours after applying the cream and the irritation stopped about 8 hours later. It felt just like bad sunburn. I put 2 and 2 together...Turns out the stuff I was liberally smearing over my body to prevent the rash spreading was causing the rash!Oilatum Bath Oil is fine for me. Looked at the ingredients and nothing carries over between the two at all, so can't eliminate anything. I doubt its the paraffins though. They are in loads of stuff.You couldn't make it up. I've turned into one of those nutty reviewers that says stuff like "I'm only giving these underpants one star because when I took them out of the package, they burst into flames", or "I'm giving these trousers one star because I ordered the wrong size".It's 3:45am and I can't sleep cos my neck and chest are on fire.

I was suffering with eczema on my ankle for a couple of years, used loadsa over the counter options, this was one of them. It didn't really help. My only advice would be, go to your GP, get 2 tubes of steroid cream and a tub of hydrator cream and this will sort it in 6 months. Guaranteed. Good luck and hope you find a fix guys, I have and no longer scratch my skin off in desperation.
