NOT laptop style chiclet keys at all

I ordered two of these for my laptops.

The image of the keyboard below a monitor clearly shows the keys as being laptop style chiclet keys - which as any laptop user knows have a distinct feel and action to them.

But when I unpacked the first keyboard and plugged it in, I quickly realised that while the keys are slightly flatter than a standard keyboard, they are far from how they appear in that image, which is the one I had happened to zoom in on when assessing which keyboard to buy.

The keys are clicking, need pressing far harder than laptop keys and the enter key has a horrible hollow plasticy sound to it.

Back they go and I'll probably end up spending a lot more money on replacing my Apple slimline keyboard which is lovely to use but had sadly got warped in transit.

      Simple

This product does exactly what I need it to... all I need it for is internet use and writing word documents. I bought this since university is closed due to the pandemic and I use a laptop stand at home to bring the screen at a better height so I don't have to bend and hurt my back.I just had to plug this in and it set up on my laptop within seconds.

      Nostalgia

Like keyboards of old. Clunky and clacky and great at catching every crumb and hiding them beneath the keys. Bought as a stopgap when my sleeker, more modern and wireless keyboard stopped working, but have mostly kept going with it. It is a sturdy thing and could probably used to biff something if you felt the need to biff something. Used for normal computing stuff as well as gaming. I am not a hardcore gamer but it works fine with the games I play. I also use it for word processing, and though I've been using it for 6 months now, my fingers still don't always hit home, but mostly acceptable. It's cheap, it's old-school, but it works (for 6 months anyway).

      Fabulous

It is a lovely keyboard. I love the sound it makes, how it harmonises with my fingers, how it echoes romantically in the circular corners of my home office space. Even my plant likes it and if I had a dog, I think he or she or they would like it.

I don't need to look down. I don't need to hunch. I don't need to suffer anymore. I don't need to punish my ligaments. I didn't need to anyway but, for some unconsciously tragic reason, I did. My faith in myself, my limbs and my spirit is restored.

Buy this keyboard! If you prefer to buy £8.00 worth of beer or mediocre quality chocolate instead of this keyboard, shame on you.

      Simple, compact, and comfortable

Bought for working at home in a rush, and no complaints after nearly two months. Comfortable typing, compact but with full size keys vs my laptop, small and light enough to tuck away somewhere when done. I have a bigger gaming keyboard but it's a pain to swap it from my PC to the laptop (requires getting under the desk to reach PC rear), so this was the perfect cheap solution.

      value for money

This keyboard is from a know manufacturer, Kensington, and has worked fine for me. You are not getting that high quality feel that you would get from a high end Microsoft keyboard but as a budget keyboard it is just fine.

The cable length is enough for most setups and the keys seem responsive enough for most day to day users.

The letters on the keys are all still clear and legible after some use, unlike some other cheap keyboards i have purchased where the letters wear off very quickly.

Again, if you want the best pay a bit more but if you want a good, every day keyboard then this will do the job nicely.

      I use this keyboard

purely for typing and it`s made my life soo much easier. Super light weight key strokes make it easy on the fingers and allows for long hours for writing the next great novel. Has a quality feel to it. For £25 with free del you can`t go wrong in my mind. Will be ordering a 2nd one to use on my laptop as it has a more natural feel to the keys. Very impressed.

      My shoulders are thankful

Working from home just got so much easier.

I had been resisting buying a keyboard thinking the trusty laptop would do fine and i’s be back in my office chair in no time. 4 months on, still no sign of going back in the office so a new keyboard it is.

This one was cheap but works perfectly well. It does it’s job and it does it well. My shoulders are thankful.

      Flawed keyboard!!!

I bought this keyboard/mouse combo for my home office to reduce the tangle of wires on my desk. Overall, the build quality is very good and the keyboard has a nice compact layout with low profile keys and good tactile feel with authentic click sound but no adjustable tilt. The mouse fits comfortably in the palm of either hand with 3 fingers positioned nicely for the two buttons and scroll wheel. However, the keyboard has a major flaw in that it frequently fails to register key presses and so interrupts my normal typing flow. I notice this particularly with CTRL keyboard shortcuts but also with SHIFT, BACKSPACE and ENTER as well as other letter number and punctuation keys. Quite often I have to give the keys quite a good thump to get them to respond and go back to re-type any missing characters. Changing the batteries does not seem to improve things. Perhaps it may be something to do with my typing style/speed but this is definitely not a keyboard for a touch typist or frequent/daily user although it would probably be okay for the two finger hunt and peck style of typist. Disappointing for such a reputable company :-(

Functional keyboard with low profile keys

This keyboard is an improvement over my original Dell in as much that the keys are a lower profile making typing a breeze. It is wider (longer depending on your definition), running along the wrist rest. This means further arm movement to the numbers on the right - I would have preferred it to be more compact and I still haven't gotten used to the additional distance - several inches would you believe (yeah-yeah you might laugh but it does make a difference)! However, for the price point at the time I really can't complain. It isn't a silent strike, therefore if you are a touch typist like myself, it can be a little clackity clack until you get into the rhythm and it becomes part of the background hum.So pros: lower profile keys than some, excellent price point - and oh yes a good long cable - always essential when not going wireless.Cons: the main one being the size - sometimes it does matter! Particularly if you have a smaller hand/arm like myself - but I will get used to it and it is so much better than the sticky keyed (and I don't mean dirty) 16 year original that I had before it!
