This phone is a replacement for a BT Décor which I had for some years and had been very pleased with.This new model, however, is not, in my opinion, up to the same standard as the previous one because the ringer is not very loud at all on the highest setting. This model is not wall mountable either. The other problem I find with it, is that when replacing the receiver I have to be very careful to make sure that it has disconnected the line. When first using the phone, and thinking I had replaced the receiver correctly, I noticed the time counting down on the display and was puzzled by this as the receiver looked to be in place properly, but on investigation I found it had not disconnected the call correctly. The button under the handset which disconnects the call is fitted very low and does not protrude upwards enough. This is a nuisance, and is why I have only given this 3 stars. Otherwise, the phone is easy to set up and the instructions clear.

Excellent for us. Number buttons are easy to use for my chunky fingers. Does an excellent job of blocking but requires "Caller ID" to get the most out of it and for it to function properly. Most cold callers give up at the call guardian message and hang up. Had a couple of calls from 118 Mumbai telling me my computer needed fixing, NOT. But since blocking them I haven't had a call from them since. How I miss talking to people with only a basic grasp of English, but insist on introducing themselves with an English christian name. Not really, only kidding. But they were becoming a complete nuisance. I haven't heard from any Nigerian Princes' telling me I had been left a fortune but needed to pay them to release the money. How am I going to get my fortune now? Basically what I'm saying is that the only people we speak to are on the list or accepted using one button. The caller has to announce their name which is relayed to you, you then decide if you want to speak to them, by pressing buuton ' 1 ', or block them using the call blocking button. The handset appears to be compatible with my hearing aids as well. So I would wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone.

It really was very simple to install unlike other high tech stuff and created no problems for this pair of oldies.
We have found the phone to be good value for it's very reasonable cost.
The screen is small, but easy to read and the buttons are a good size.
Two things which would make the phone even better ----if stored numbers could be recalled by
a memory number instead of scrolling through a menu and the call signal could do with being a little louder
We have been using the phone for several trouble free months and have no cause for complaint.

I thought with this being a BT phone it would be easy to use etc. On the contrary, the manual that comes with it is not easy to follow in my opinion.Making calls from the memory address book isn’t that easy either. The display isn’t back lit & is difficult to see how long you’ve been on a call, (up to one hour free on my plan) or who’s calling you. Using the earpiece it’s difficult to hear & you can’t increase the volume, if you switch to hands free speaker you have to be very close to the unit for the person on the other end to hear you.Finally if someone leaves you a message on the answering machine the phone beeps every few seconds quite loudly until you play the message, this is annoying especially if you’re trying to have a lie in, as of yet I haven’t discovered how either turn this off, other than switching off the answering machine, or turning off the beep.

We got fed up with our cordless telephones as they never seemed to last very long before burning out, so decided to go "back to basics" and bought this phone instead. For the price it actually comes with a lot of features, we can still block callers, it holds plenty of names and numbers and has an answering machine. However, I have to confess I am finding it difficult adjusting to having a phone with the receiver attached so you have to actually sit down by the phone, you can't just walk around and do stuff whilst you are talking like I am used to doing. The phone itself is a bit lightweight and if you forget that the receiver is attached to the phone (like I do) then it is very easy to pull the whole thing off the table (which I have also done). All in all I can't really complain for what it cost but I have a feeling I will be going back to a cordless phone again before too long.

Very disappointed. I bought this for my 80 year old father for Christmas. The large buttons and sound quality are excellent. But the LCD screen has no backlight so he can't read the display. The photographs on the box and on the internet suggest that it has a backlight but it does not. So unfortunately he can't use the full range of the phones features which is very disappointing.

So far so good with this phone. BT don’t produce the most stylish phones but this one is at least unobjectionable in appearance and is easy to operate. The fairly large numbers are an advantage and it has most of the functions I want. Sound quality isn’t the best but I don’t know whether that’s the phone or the line. All in all I feel it’s a reasonably good buy.

This thing is an absolute disaster, cant believe BT put their name on it. issues I had:
+ Hands-free doesn't work properly, even if you follow the arcane instructions to lift the handset first, it would still intermittently disconnect or switch sound back to the handset earpiece.
+ Very loud hum on calls (my line is fine)
+ Worst of all, it was causing disconnections of my BT Infinity broadband (oh the irony)
Seriously, avoid this garbage.

We were fed up with receiving spam calls, in spite of being registered with telephone preference service. We didn't want cordless and so we bought the 2600. This is an excellent piece of equipment, fairly easy to master and very efficient in its usage. We would certainly recommend its use.Negative points - Ring tones are pretty naff; out of the ten or twelve, there are two that we like, but one of those just doesn't impinge on our consciousness, but the other one is good.Other negative point is that the phone has to plug into the mains and to the BT point. The telephone cable is long enough to stretch to another room, but the power cable doesn't, which means that we would need an extension lead which is an inconvenience as it means more cable lying around in the hallway.Overall though, definitely recommended.

As a telephone it is very nice. Passing over the fact that BT itself should be doing something urgent to protect us from the current plague of nuisance calls, I have not found this telephone to be of much use. It only seems to block calls if either the answer machine, or the call announcing facility is activated. This means that the phone would probably be quite functional if it is your only phone, but I found it impossible to use as one of four phone connections. It does not appear to block 'number withheld' calls, which are amongst the most troublesome. BT must have a long list of nuisance numbers, which they ought to place in the block function automatically. I want a phone, which simply blocks unwanted calls without in any way impeding wanted calls.
