I tested these for a few days and in the end had to return them, they sound quality and the software issues are just not acceptable at this price and make these unusable for me. The only few positive they have is that the design looks nice, are really comfortable and the cooling gel actually does work to keep your ears cool.
The sound that you hear has alot of bass but it is very wooly and very undefined, not pleasant. The THX surround does seem to work very well for simulating surround sound but it is totally let down byt the poor highs, just not crisp enough and made everything poor to listen too. No amount of tinkering with the EQ could fix it.
The worst part for me was the microphone, it had such low volume and sensitivity. I spend days tickering with the various settings to make it just loud enough for other people to hear me, but that just isnt good enough. For comparison, I have a really cheap logitech desktop microphone that does a much better job in volume and clarity.
The other issue I had with these is that the software required (Razer Synapse) to take advantage of the main selling point of these is heavy on resources. I noticed that while playing a game which it on it would use almost 20% of my i5 CPU. Thats really poor and resulted in lower FPS which is not acceptable. Even if I chose to not use the THX spatial audio and default to using the free one (Windows Sonic for headphones) built into Windows 10, the poor sound quality is just not worth it. I might as well buy a cheap unknown brand headset which will have better sound (I know because I bought one for my son) for less than half the price.
