Worth every penny, especially at that price

Ordered on Thursday, sent back Friday, new one by Saturday. AMAZING..!!
      Returned due to transportation damage.
New one is excellent, quite a quiet little machine considering its size, its a slightly softer, lower toned noise compared to some that screem like a Banshee.
It only took around a minute to inflate my Toyota Hiace van tyre from 22 to 34 Psi. Also has an in-line pressure release valve for deflation.
Small point which has already been put in the literature in the add, is the need for a separate pressure gauge for real pin point accuracy if you really need it, as i found it to be around a psi lower than my own gauge, easy fix was putting in 1 psi higher on the pump gauge setting.
Would be a 6 STAR rating if it was possible..!

      Very handy

Bit of a story here. Was away for Christmas at a hotel and got a puncture. Luckily a slow puncture. As I was rooting in boot for the gizmo to repair tyre as no spare another guest from the hotel said he had a pump in boot. And you guessed it it was this exact model. Following morning inflated tyre enough to get me to Rochdale tyres who luckily where open Boxing Day. Two very nice gents swiftly pulled not one but two nails from the tyre and a 15 quid puncture repair later I was back on the road. If I had used the gizmo it would have been a new tyre aaparently. So obviously first chance I got Straight on BargainFox and bought my own to keep in the boot. Comes in a very handy soft case for tidy storage. And it also, has a very handy light as well. Plugs in to,power/cig lighter socket. Mine has one in the boot and the power cable was long enough to reach all four wheels from the boot fairly big 4 wheel drive so should be ok for most cars. Some of the reviews on here doubt the accuracy of the readings but when i attached to my tyres the reading agreed with the reading the car was giving. They could both be wrong but I like it and it did save me having to get a new tyre.

      Very fast.

      *First impressions*
Came today, is much smaller than I expected. Nice and compact, the power cable and the air line fit inside it nicely.

I took it out to fill up a tyre, it took around 2 minutes to go from 12psi to 30psi. Automatic cut off is a nice feature as you don't have to keep an eye on it. I did actually end up plugging it in to 3 cars until I worked out that the power plug is a bit crap and any slight knock or tug and it will turn off the unit. I will likely buy a new connector and replace it to save frustration.

It is a bit on the noisy side, I wouldn't connect it up at 6am to pump up a tyre before work, but good for emergency situations.

      Small and Easy to Use

Got this to check and top up tyre pressures whenever I want rather than remembering to do so periodically at petrol stations.

Nice long power cable ensuring all four tyres can be reached with no hassle - I have a medium sized hatchback. A light is also very useful if ever need to use at night.

Is quite loud to use, although to be fair not sure why I expected different as it's trying to pump up car tyres not footballs!

Only slight criticism is the pressure gauge (or whether it's even accurate as I have nothing to validate the pressure). I set the pressure to 32psi and set it to start. It stops once it supposedly reaches this level but then the reading drops to 30psi before I even start to remove the valve so I am never sure if my tyres are fully pumped to the correct level.

      Seems to work

I bought it to replace my old Mitchelin one that started to smoke with use and ran out of puff to get the pressure up. Handy to have the integral light. It's s bit more fiddly than the Mitchelin and other pumps I've had. You have to screw on the locking nut of the pressure pipe rather than the lever type where you pull the lever across to lock. You need nibble strong fingers to tighten and un tighten the locking nut. The pipe itself folds backwards and forwards into the unit rather than coil like the Mitchelin one did. The power cable has to be pulled out to full length then folded in half, coiled up and held with velcrose in position for storage. The zip case is nice.

I would say the power cable is plenty long enough for the job, longer than my old one. I wouldn't say it's anymore noisy than my old one.

Something to look out for, one of the alternatives on BargainFox which had a massive saving from its original price was incapable of pressuring a tyre above 40. If you got big fancy tyres they will need to go above 40, this unit has an ample spec on that.

      So far, so good.

      Read the small print

I was shocked to read in the literature, that the accuracy of the inflator should be checked against a public tyre inflator. I really thought this item was the be all and end all, negating the need to call in to the local petrol station for air. My car displays a digital tyre pressure reading on a dashboard instrument ,which I have to assume is accurate;when inflating the tyres with the RAC635,I add a pound allowing for the slight loss of air when taking the screw nozzle off the tyre valves. This compares well with the car's readings,so I am happy, but if the manufacturer will not certify the accuracy,I might just as well have carried on with my foot pump. The manufacturer also suggests the RAC635 is used whilst the car engine is running,to avoid depleting the car's battery, all well and good if you have a qualified person to sit behind the steering wheel, whilst you inflate the tyres, otherwise the car might disappear, leaving you to sort things with your insurer.

No more queuing at petrol stations !!

Great buy ! This handy gadget has been worth every penny. The great number of sleeping policemen ( or road humps ) where I live means constant deflation of the tyres on both cars. Plugging it into the cigarette lighter and ample long leads. I move the gadget from drivers right side to passenger side through the car when inflating left side of car . Handy led torch by the side. After the pressure is reached , when removing the valve from the car tyre , there is some air that escapes . I rang the " hotline " and was reassured that the air escaping was from the short tubing from tyre valve to the monitor.

      Nice design, bad automation

Great little package, quick and easy to get out and pack away, nice carrying zip up pouch.
For convenience it's fine but the instructions say don't rely on its built in pressure gauge, and you really can't.
I'd say the automatic cut off is correct to within 3 or 4 psi. I found that if you set it higher than you need then it's more likely to be closer to your desired pressure. Surely they could accounted for this when they made it. Plus, if you start it up again it will put more air in for the same set pressure. I tried just running it twice for a more accurate result but after testing with an accurate gauge, two tyres were still different pressures.

It's fast, I really like the design, and its cheap, but after reading back my own review of this I'm dropping it to 3 stars from 4 (let's say it 3.5!). It'll do for a quick pump and go, but it's gonna bug me every time I use it knowing that it's not right, and if I have to check and re use it multiple times to get the correct pressures then what's the point of having it automated at all. In fact, I wish I'd forked out for a better one.

      My 2nd

In fact this is my 3rd as the first broke after a few months but was replaced with no hassle. It's replacement lasted for 4 years before the piston drive failed. Why buy another, well it works very well. I use it to maintain my caravans tyre pressure of 65 psi and inflate my cars rear tyres to 46 psi on a regular basis. Working at higher pressures is harder on the compressor so it is bound to inflict more wear and tear.
Some have complained about the screw on valve connection, but it works fine if you add a little pressure by hand when fitting and unfitting, that way pressure loss is greatly reduced.
The gauge accuracy is well okay, but I always over inflate then adjust the tyre pressure to the correct pressure using a dial pressure gauge which is very accurate.
The one thing I will say is that the new version I have is far quieter in operation than the previous two, and faster, a big plus when leaving a caravan site in the morning and re-pressurizing the cars rear tyres.
If you own a caravan get yourself a decent cigar lighter socket with a decent length lead and connect direct to the leisure battery, makes the off side caravan tyre easier to maintain correct pressure.

Makes pumping up the tyres a breeze!

I have an issue with my wheels at the moment where air is leaking very slowly, but enough to warrant checking and re-pressurising at least twice a week. Fed up with manually pumping on cold winter mornings, I purchased this digi pump. It's brilliant! Threaded onto the valve a tight seal is obtained every time. It's then simply a case of dialling in the required pressure and leaving the pump to do the rest, which it completes in surprisingly quick time. It also comes with a neat cable tidy and smart carry case, so stows away neatly in the boot of the car.
