Description

The Halti Headcollar is one of the first headcollars designed specifically for dogs that prevent pulling on the Lead. For general Lead training, or just to help train your dog to walk without pulling, the Halti Headcollar is a favourite for pet parents and dog trainers alike. The Halti Headcollar combines comfort and control and allows dogs to eat, drink and pant freely when using their headcollar, while also training them to walk without pulling. The Halti Headcollar is great for dogs like Labradors, golden retrievers and other strong dogs that pull on the Lead putting painful pressure on pet parents and dogs' shoulders and necks. Available in multiple sizes, the Halti Headcollar is the ideal solution to prevent pulling on the Lead when no pull harnesses aren't working for you or your dog. Halti products are better together! The Halti Headcollar works best when used with the Halti Training Lead because the Halti Training Lead offers multiple connection points allowing for optimal steering and control. Amazing product - kind and effective

Amazing! I bought this for my 4 year old border collie who pulled relentlessly no matter what. It took a bit for him to get used to wearing the collar (which we tackled by coaxing him into it with treats and only leaving it on for short periods of time). At first he would try to paw at the collar to get it off his nose, and if he did try to pull on the lead he would end up thrashing around as the collar was restraining his head. We found that leaving the headcollar on him while he was off the lead was a great way of getting him used to it, as running around sniffing and playing meant he forgot he was wearing the collar. Now that he’s used to it, he does still try to walk ahead of us, but since he can’t pull with his entire body (like he would with a collar or harness), it’s a lot easier to correct the behaviour and overall makes walks a lot more enjoyable! Although it did take a week or so for our dog to get used to the collar in order for it to become effective, I would say this product is an amazing tool for dogs who have gotten into the difficult-to-break habit of pulling.

Works as intended Comfort may be an issue

We have a medium sized, very strong, male dog, who gets easily excited and then pulls very hard if he thinks something is worth chasing.
This collar will definitely alleviate the majority of issues.
However, the reason I use the word "majority" is because of the following
      > If your dog becomes very manic and starts jumping all over the place, the halti can slip off the head ( has happened once) . If your dog is much calmer generally, then this should not be an issue
      > Our dog really dislikes the collar, and spends a few minutes trying to rub it off with his paws, before settling down
      > Comfort levels depend upon the shape of the muzzle. Our dog does not have a terribly long muzzle. Depending on how much, and which direction, the dog pulls, the collar comes very close to the eyes. Longer muzzles may not experience this.
      > I am personally a little dubious over the quality of the plastic clip mechanism that holds the halti around the neck. This appears to be a little fragile. HOWEVER, as this has only been used for approximately 4 weeks, will have to wait to see how long it lasts.

Works but is not durable enough!

My 1 yr old lab knows how to walk to heel but he won’t do it unless I constantly bribe him with treats. If he sees another dog he goes absolutely wild. Thought I’d give this a go along with the halti training lead. Our first walk with it was amazing! He barely pulled and when he did it was very easy to correct him. It made training much easier, he still got treats for walking nicely and for ignoring distractions etc. HOWEVER, before his second walk he was jumping around a bit trying to get it off, and it only took 5 seconds of him messing around for a strap to snap. It had frayed so much after one walk that it just fell apart! It really isn’t durable enough and needs to be made from more robust material that doesn’t wear out easily. I know people said they wear out quickly but I expected more than one walk out of it! I am now looking for a more secure and durable head collar to do the same job as it did really work well for the one walk it lasted for!

What a game changer! Best £6.99 spent ever!!

      Came well packaged on arrival.
I introduced my pup first with praising and treats wearing indoors and practising on the lead. Couple time she would try to get it off with her paw or rub her nose against my leg but this was to be expected.
I brought this as I have a gsd thats growing bigger and got alot stronger, she will pull, espeically when she see other animals on walks.
Few days later I did the first test on a proper walk.
OH MY GAWDDDD! COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED HER!!! IS SHE EVEN THE SAME DOG?
she did not pull once!! When people walked past she didnt try to jump at them to try and get them to pmay with her.
The big test was whether she would pull when she saw another dog, well guess what!!
She locked on seeing a dog and thought about it... but she still didnt pull and carried on!!
It was such a pleasure to walk her and more calm and comfortable for the both of us while we are out.
Its honestly the best £6.99 I have ever spent on her.
A couple times she will try to take it off but only minimal, this is still to be expected as this is new to her, but the more she wears it, it will become a normality.
I brought a size 3, its seems it might be a little big as on the nose it will rise up towards eyes a little, but isnt too near the eyes. As were she is not pulling, its not getting tighter on her face, but if I brought a size 2 I think it wouldn't fit her properly, the size 3 is perfect otherwise (she is crossbreed so she slightly smaller).
I totally recommend this product!! Its a definite must buy if you have a strong pulling dog!

      Walks are enjoyable again!!

Best product ever, I was beginning to give up with leads and multiple types of harnesses with my 3yr old collie who can pull like the clappers. I saw my friend had bought halti for her miniature greyhounds. I thought I'd try this and wow I'm so impressed. No he doesn't like it initially but he becomes distracted with the wall quick enough and HE CANT PULL. He can't still eat grass and even pick up small balls and sticks. No strain on my shoulders or back. Its be great for helping to train heel. Walks are enjoyable again and my elderly grandad can now walk him without risk of him pulling. ADVICE: make sure you measure properly, I over estimated the size but glad I checked using the halti size guide.

      Very impressed

It's way too big! And somehow I got a lead and halti instead of two halti head things i chose two different sizes but one was a lead instead:( the description said would suite certain breeds but I suppose all dogs have different head sizes. Lots of room to make it smaller but on smallest setting it's still massive and goes up over the eyes. I'd say this would fit a Rottie not a spaniel anyway. And so much room you should probaby measure first like I didn't. Also return is more than the product cost in the first place so no point returning will just have to order another two haltis and try to sell these myself.Ok update, now that the dog has stopped trying to turn her head sideways in it due to some great chicken liver pate, it actually pretty much fits fine on the smalles setting. I decide to have a go of the lead and just get us out the door with it and oh y god it was amazing!!!My dog has always pulled since I really badly tried to use a choke chain with her years ago without knowig what I was doing, I turned her into a pulling dog she could have pulled a Sled. Years and years of attempting to keep a all assertive energy (Cesar Milan's advice) while having my shoulder dislocated ..... I went out the door and the lead was very log so while I locked the door I just slung it over like a handbag, across my body. And I literally walked the whole walk with it that way! Hands free! Gave her a heel common about three times and a tiny tug on her nose lead, the other end on her collar ... And the lead around my shoulder! Magic! On the way back I took the lead of and held it really loose and she didn't even try to get ahead of me! I'm so happy I got this for the sake of my back and for my nerves it's so aweful to have a dog who pulls you down the road just feel like everyone is judging you. And much as I have loved Cesar Milan no same person can keep a totally calm energy while being dragged through te town by a medium sized dog.I will actually look forward to walking the dog now instead of dreading it and my back will thank me! I'm going to order another for my other dog who doesn't pull but sniffs the ground a lot and so I can connect them and walk hands free! Wish I had known years ago about these as I often didn't bring my kids with me due to not having enough hands for two dogs and two kids now I will have my hands and my dogs at my heel! I can't believe how well it works!

Use with Halti harness and training lead

Sizing was great. 3 fitted my husky. This is worth its weight in gold. I personally hate that it’s opulls my dogs face. But he got the idea rapidly. I use the Halti harness and training lead with this. I use the harness for most of the walk. And when he reacts (very reactive to other animals) I use the head collar to take his attention back to me and continue walking. He argues abit but it has worked so well and made walks so much easier. It used to take two of us to control him when he saw another dog. Because of this id avoid other dogs and walkers would avoid me! I had this for two days and walked through a park bumping into 4 other dogs and it was like having another dog. He realised rapidly that he could no longer drag meMy sister has a very unruly staff who is almost impossible to walk. We tried this on him and within a very small amount of time he began to get the idea and was almost handleable!! She has asked me to order some for her!!All that being said it doesn’t stop pulling completely but he no longer drags me

      This is a game changer.

I got this for my 11 month old Clumber Spaniel, she's always been a puller no matter what combination of collar/harness/retractable/fixed length I've tried. Her reaction to it wasn't bad, she'd just paw at it if we stopped walking, after about 20 minutes or so of wearing it she was fine and largely ignored it.So she has gone from being a constant puller who was always nose-down sniffing at everything to being able to walk next to me with slack in the lead. She's still sniffing everything, she's just walking closer to me and heel training has been a breeze. For those who haven't used these before and think they look restrictive, she's still about to eat and drink with it on.

      Such a difference

I can't believe the difference this has made with my 7 month old Golden Retriever puppy. Walkies were not enjoyable as she would pull so much and it was a real effort to control her. This HALTI headcollar has transformed her into an obedient goldie that is a delight to walk, wish I'd got it earlier !
